Was at Hennie’s Montana earlier this evening. Not the best Hennie’s by a long shot. Welcome from the lady at the front… desk sorely lacking. She brought me a menu and mumbled something along the lines that a waiter will be along shortly. Sat for ten minutes before a waiter noticed me (table next to me complained about their lack of service). Ordered a beer and that arrived within a reasonable time. Waitress was a little condescending, not sure why. Then proceeded to order a pizza, which was seriously mediocre and not hot. Pulled pork with pineapple, but less than a dozen tiny pieces of pork. They have the annoying policy of adding 10% to the bill as a gratuity for the server. They do stress that the customer doesn’t have to pay it, but who wants to make a scene in public with a mediocre waitress, and in a very mediocre restaurant. Much better drinking holes in Montana than Hennie’s.read more

The waiters never mentioned that the kitchen is closed. We came to have dinner but clearly no service… wait you can’t… complain…. there is no service….poorly presented service from a female waitress…. she said…. sit anywhere someone will help you…. how do you run a organization like this and expect people to rate your restaurant. Either close your doors and have no business. There is about 20 guests here… that’s telling me the service here is very poor…. but anyhow…. good luck in the future….read more

Hennies Montana is a great place overall. The vibe is extremely pleasant, the wait staff and bartenders are friendly… and easy to chat with and work in a timely fashion, even the Managers are pleasant and you can joke around with them without them being too unprofessional. They also make it a point to stop at every table to ensure their service needs are met.The food is great and wait time isn’t long either. (The only reason I gave food 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think the loaded fries needs more cheese sauce than cheese melted on top – but otherwise their food is extremely flavorful)All in all – Hennies Montana, you are doing fantasticread more
Unfortunately we did not even stay to eat the food. This was going to be our 1st time here, but after sitting down and… telling the waitress to give us a chance to go through the menu first, we just did not feel welcome at all. We had the beer we ordered and then rather left, just to see that we also had no choice in paying a tip for unfriendly service. We always pay at least 20% for good service and can’t remember when last we considered paying less, but when you don’t even have a choice, it makes you feel that management doesn’t care if the service given is good &/or friendly.
