I’m a regular at hennies. I’ve always got really good service however this past Saturday was different. The waitress that was serving us really treated us so bad. We asked for water and ice from her, she went and got water and a cut full of ice, we shared ice amang ourselves, when we look at my drink I realized it changed colors. We looked in side the cut she gave us and realized it’s dirty, like really dirty. We showed her and told her that I can’t drink my soda anymore bcos of that. She had to change my drink and my water she immediately got irritated. She went got the manager and lied to the manager but I correctly explained to the mnger what really happened and he said sorry cos that was not what he was told. I was giving new drink. Of which I really appreciated.However the waitress came and told us she was called into the office and bcos of our complain we got her into trouble, from then she was so mean to us and really intimidating poiting at us while she’s talking to other waitresses. She was showing us that she’s not happy at all. She didn’t want to serve us after that. She never came to check up on us at all, our food ended up trying out bcos she just didn’t even bother to give us a box for takeaway.We were helped by someone else who was so kind and started wping our table and asking us if we are OK and not to worry. The other lady bought us our change bcos our waitress didn’t want to even talk to us. I was really shocked by her behavior honestly. You don’t behave like that at work no matter the misunderstandings. This is someone’s business, the success of most restaurants are determined by the quality of the food and treatment from the employees.For me I will continue coming to hunnies bcos it’s really nice there, the food is amazing. I love the burgers and fries and the atmosphere. The ppl are friendly and we are all treated the same. I recommend this place. 👌
I’m extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Hennies. While the waitress was friendly and the Christa Supreme Burger was delicious at first, my experience took a turn for the worse when I found a hair in my patty.What’s even more disturbing is the staff’s response. The waiter claimed that no one in the kitchen had that hair texture, implying that I somehow placed the hair there myself. To make matters worse, the manager didn’t even bother to come and apologize or address the issue.Although I received a discount on my burger and a half-hearted apology from the waiter, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I’ve had lovely experiences at Hennies before, but this incident has made me question their quality control and customer service.
The relaxing atmosphere, great food and awesome staff make Hennie’s the best family restaurant in Bloem. Tanya and her staff make a visit to Hennie’s a special experience every time!!

Went down to watch the rugger match. Only big screen was working. There is a BIG light right in front of the screen . A big screen does not work when you put a light in front of it! And I’m told its always been there. Are we all idiots ? Read the manual , it states as far as possible ” No white light close to the screen ” and then one of the staff switches on the 3 LED lamps on the right of the big screen and then I could see even less, I left. The one guy tried to reboot the system and was unsuccessful. We were to have breakfast 10 people. This is a world class rugby event…
Great vibe here, really enjoyed the food. Big bar section. Also outdoor seating ect. Definitely recommended. Also the left handed only drinking brings something new to the table.All notes i have, chairs are hard,square and not comfortable. Furniture seems abit flimsy.or the floor wasn’t level?Also the big plates with empty space makes you’re meal look small.Otherwise all and all a good experience and food was cooked as asked.Will visit again

What a fantastic experience for my birthday last night at Hennie’s Bloemfontein. Friendliest staff. Was even welcomed by the Owner Mattie. The atmosphere was awesome. The food was delicious and the waiters all helped when we wanted or needed something. Can’t wait to go again.
I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. The staff are very friendly. The food was great. The outdoor seating is really nice. It’s great for people watching:) very nice location inside of Preller Square

Great food, great atmosphere, friendly waiters and good prices. Unfortunately the Manager has a HUGE attitude problem. We were regular goers and it was a nice place to hang out for me, my friends and family, I even sometimes went there for lunch business meetings, but we definitely wont go again due to the rude manager.

Great staff memebers. But management poor example of leading. She came to me (the manager) and saw cooldrink that I bought ealier before I came in here. I bought a cappuccino and stated that im waiting for my fiance to come then we will eat something when I walked in at Hennies. After I was drinking my first cappuccino -sitting for 30 min, the manager came to me and say its not acceptable to have the cooldrink here with me (keeping in mind that I have already order my first cappuccino with them and no one told me when I came in that I may not bring in the cool drink that I had with me ), i must either order something else “Can I bring you another coffee” her exact words-like come on! I will order another coffee when im ready lady! Basically forcing me to take something alternativley im not welcome here. This is the first Hennies that made me feel so unwelcome. Like I said. The staff…was great! Manager not so much! The whole point of Management is to make your customers feel welcome !!! NOT UNWELCOM!!! The worst part for me was, was when I called her to clarify that im waiting for my Fiance and she ignored me completely. Rule number 1…@Hennies Preller Square Mall Bloemfontein.
The best atmosphere you will ever get… with fun rules, nice bingo prizes and alot of laughs with the funny and engaging rules. This is really unique and awesome, the food is amazing!
I never give 5 star ratings, but I had a 5 star experience. The food was excellent, the service out of this world! And the atmosphere just great! It was my birthday and I felt like a queen! Thanks for the great experience!!!

Excellent place to dine at, service is great and the food super delicious. They have a home brew beer which is worth a try.

My son went there for lunch. He did not receive the food he ordered. The waitress just told him to eat it. The food he received were more expensive of that he ordered. Me and my family will never visit the restaurant again. The manager never came back to me as promied. It happened on Friday 1 December 2023.

We tried to book a table yesterday, and were told they don’t allow table reservations after 18:30. However, arriving at 18:30 tonight, we were told, sorry, no tables available- all are booked, for after 18:30. The explanation- the “rules” changed this morning, due to the market. A market which they knew about months before. A really bad experience in terms of customerservice.
Absolute worst experience of racism and disrespect! After a work lunch, a few of us remained and continued with drinks when.. The floor manager decided to discontinue our drinks tabs? without approaching us? Courteously, to tell us what the reasons were? We found this out through the BarMan who was initially preparing our drinks order. We had complied with all that He had asked of us a group which included keeping our voices down because a neighbouring table was trying to put their baby to sleep!? In a drinking establishment?? On Quiz Night?? In a public restaurant that we are also paying for a service?!The manner in which the situation was handled showed that the problem was clearly our presence in this establishment, because now that we were in the bar area, we were still perceived to be disruptive? Meanwhile around us there were other tables doing the exact same thing ? Talking amongst one another. I was of two minds to Leave without settling that bill?! because clearly, then our money is also not good enough? We however, spoke to the owner who highlighted that we not welcome any longer. We proceed to pay and left.I was shocked that this kind of isolation still exists in this day and age when we are striving towards inclusion of all!Was very disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant for drinks, if you’re a person of colour.
Staff were extremely friendly. The food was amazing. It’s great for dining out with friends and family. The general vibe was great, especially with the “house rules” it makes everyone interact. Would definitely recommend!

Had a graduation celebration there and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Excellent service and all the staff were very friendly. Will go back there but must remember the house rules🤣…rule 1 and 7 very important

I will not say this was the best choice ever, I’ve been to the one in Pretoria a few times and WOW, knowing the quality I would think hennies bloem is basically the same, Unfortunately not at all, Firstly the waiter’s attitude, is just WOW and the food was a waste, its bland and such a big difference with the one in Pretoria, Let the photo’s speak

Really enjoyed the Chicken Schnitzel special, at R79, it is a bargain! Meagain our server was a sweetheart. We sat outside because there was a smell of spilled beer inside. Maybe the bar needs some cleaning at the tap machines. Overall a pleasant experience.
